On March 1 2018, the Parks Management contract was taken over by Lampton Greenspace 360, a subsidiary of Lampton 360 which is wholly owned by Hounslow Council. The company took over the contract earlier than planned due to the involuntary liquidation of Carillion, the previous management company.
Both Lampton GreenSpace 360 and Hounslow Council have worked hard to build a new service, whilst also delivering the ongoing grounds maintenance, arboriculture, allotments, cemeteries, countryside and communities services required. Whilst the teams have worked tirelessly ensuring continuity of service, some problems have been experienced in relation to the grass-cutting across the borough. The grass-cutting season traditionally begins on 1 March of each year, however delays were incurred this year due to the unexpected early transfer from Carillion. Additionally, the extreme weather conditions experienced between March-May, has resulted in the grass growing much faster than normal.
The teams have worked hard to bring the parks back to the desired standard and will be maintained and cut to the planned schedules. Grass-cutting in the cemeteries is still in progress and we have deployed additional resources to assist the teams in bringing these sites in line with specification shortly.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delays.
